to Arévalo with the line Madrid-Avila-Valladolid economically boosting all
region. |

67. But the disaster of 1898 with
the loss of Cuba and the Philippines together with the war in Africa will make this
century one of the darkest ones in the history of Arévalo. |

of Spain resurges, including Arévalo, but social problems will affect this
region, producing emigration to industrial areas. |
