24. In 1059 Fernando I will take
it for the christians because it was one of the few depopulated towns. |

25. Finally, in 1082 King Alfonso
VI will definitely make Arévalo a Christian city |

26. According to legend, this last
occupation was accomplished through single duel between five christian knights [one
for each lineage] and five Moorish captains. |

27. In 1088 the demarcacion of Arévalo
will be defined politically with its taxes. It will be considered a royal place. |

28. But fighting in Castile are not
over, and Castile and Leon split after Alfonso VII's death in 1157. Of these years
are the crenellated walls and watchtowers for defence. They will be the reference
for "mudéjar" towers so abundant in these lands. |

29. The knights from Arévalo
will take part in the battle of Las Navas de Tolosa [1212] |

30. As a result this village was
granted a coat of arms with a knight on a horse without spurs, with the motto "very
noble, very ilustrious and very loyal". |

place in which a crenellated tower is believed to have existed. |
