En sus escenas de genero la influencia de Velázquez, así como la de Murillo, es evidente - p.ej. el vendedor del cuadro (Munich) - pero su estilo deriva del Veneciano y de Rubens. Se especializó en el tema típicamente español del la inmaculada conceptción, del cual por lo menos veinticinco versiones de él son conocidas. Él también pintó retratos. Hay trabajos en Amsterdam, el castillo de Barnard (museo de Bowes), Copenhague, Dublín, Madrid, Oxford (Ashmolean) y Sevilla. In his genre scenes the influence of Velázquez, as well as that of Murillo, is evident - e.g. The Picture Seller (Munich) - but his style derives from the Venetians and from Rubens. He specialized in the typically Spanish subject of the Immaculate Conception, of which at least twenty-five versions by him are known. He also painted portraits. There are works in Amsterdam, Barnard Castle (Bowes Museum), Copenhagen, Dublin, Madrid, Oxford (Ashmolean) and Seville.
